What does a Foshan sourcing agent actually do?

A Foshan sourcing agent coordinates the local work between an overseas buyer and furniture or building-material suppliers. VELA Home Global turns the buyer’s brief into a route, comparable product records, controlled follow-up and documented handovers instead of simply introducing factories.

Review the complete sourcing scope
01

Plan showroom and supplier routes

Group relevant visits around the buying brief, including Lecong furniture showrooms, Longjiang furniture suppliers, Nanzhuang ceramics and other suitable Foshan product clusters.

Commercial boundary: VELA Home Global publishes a client-paid sourcing fee of 3%–6%, with a USD 200 minimum. Supplier identity, quotation basis and payment route still need to be checked for each order; no responsible agent can guarantee that every showroom is factory-direct or that every project will achieve the same saving.

How it works

A controlled path from brief to delivery preparation.

Each stage creates the information needed for the next decision instead of treating sourcing as a list of unrelated supplier messages.

Fees, logistics and quality control

The three questions buyers usually ask first.

VELA Home Global separates sourcing fees, third-party logistics costs and inspection responsibilities so buyers can understand the commercial route before placing orders.

02 / Logistics

How does logistics work after the products are ready?

VELA connects supplier release, warehouse receiving, consolidation and the buyer’s appointed freight forwarder.

  1. Confirm release. Approved orders and supplier readiness are recorded.
  2. Receive cargo. A partner warehouse records orders and visible package information.
  3. Consolidate and load. Compatible cargo is grouped around volume, weight, fragility and the shipping plan.
  4. Coordinate documents. Cargo and packing information is shared with the freight provider.

The freight provider quotes transport and handles carrier schedules, insurance, customs and destination services.

03 / Quality control

What is the quality-control process before shipment?

The inspection is tied to approved orders, drawings, samples and measurable requirements rather than a generic visual check.

  1. Set the reference. Confirm the approved specification and inspection priorities.
  2. Check ready goods. Review the agreed identity, quantity, dimensions, visible materials, finish, workmanship, function, labels and packing.
  3. Report evidence. Provide photos, videos, findings and a written inspection report.
  4. Correct before release. Record nonconformities and coordinate repair, correction or replacement for client review.

Formal laboratory testing, certification, dedicated during-production checks or statistical AQL programs must be separately agreed.

Risk control and delivery

Connect supplier checks, product evidence and cargo handovers.

VELA coordinates agreed China-side records while commercial approval, specialist testing, freight carriage and destination compliance remain with the responsible buyer and appointed professionals.

What does a Foshan sourcing agent do for an overseas project?

A Foshan sourcing agent turns an overseas buyer’s product brief into coordinated local work. VELA Home Global plans relevant showroom and supplier routes, records products, normalizes quotation questions, follows approved specifications and production, coordinates pre-shipment inspection, and connects multiple suppliers with warehouse and shipment preparation. The exact scope is agreed around the buyer’s product list, drawings, destination and approval process.

Can I source from Foshan without travelling to China?

Yes. Remote sourcing can include supplier options, quotation coordination, samples, video communication, production updates and inspection evidence. Clear dimensions, materials, quantities, reference images, budget guidance and destination details are needed before suppliers can be compared properly.

What information should I prepare before starting a sourcing project?

Prepare the project type, product list or BOQ, quantities, dimensions, drawings, material and finish references, destination, budget guidance and target dates. VELA reviews the available information and identifies the gaps that should be clarified before supplier quotation.
