01

Confirm the correct 2026 phase before booking

The official organizer lists Phase 1 for advanced manufacturing categories including lighting, electrical products, hardware and tools. Phase 2 covers the strongest overlap with whole-home sourcing: furniture, building and decoration materials, sanitary and bathroom equipment, household products and home decoration.

A project that includes furniture, bathrooms, surfaces and lighting may therefore span two phases. Buyers should identify the products that justify fair time and avoid assuming every interior category is located in Phase 2.

Use the official phase schedule as the source of truth. A sourcing agent can help organize the purchasing route, but official registration, badges, exhibition dates and venue notices should always be confirmed directly with the Canton Fair organizer.

02

Understand what the fair can and cannot solve

The Canton Fair is useful for broad supplier discovery, seeing current product ranges, meeting export-oriented companies and identifying categories that deserve deeper follow-up. It is especially valuable when the buyer is still building a shortlist or comparing several possible product directions.

The fair is less suitable for finalizing a complex custom order in one conversation. Booth teams may not have complete engineering information, exact project pricing, all finish samples or the authority to confirm every production detail. Treat the visit as structured discovery rather than automatic supplier approval.

A strong fair result is a smaller set of well-documented leads. It is not the number of catalogues collected or photographs taken.

  • Use the fair to discover and compare possible suppliers.
  • Use written follow-up to normalize specifications and quotations.
  • Use samples, drawings or prototypes for decisions that cannot be made from a booth display.
  • Use verification and inspection as separate controls after supplier selection.

03

Search exhibitors before entering the halls

Use the official exhibitor and product search to create an initial category list. The search result is a lead, not proof that the exhibitor can meet the project specification, quantity, destination requirement or delivery timing.

For each potential supplier, record the company name, hall or booth, product reference and one decision question. A focused list makes it easier to compare similar suppliers rather than collecting unrelated options.

Prioritize the questions that require physical observation: scale, comfort, visible workmanship, material appearance, finish options and product configuration. Questions about contracts, payment, certificates, drawings and production should still be confirmed in writing after the meeting.

Material books and finish samples organized for supplier shortlisting before a Canton Fair visit
  • Group suppliers by product category and project item code.
  • Save the official listing or product reference before the visit.
  • Prepare a short specification and quantity for each priority item.
  • Mark which questions require a physical sample, drawing or factory discussion.

04

Prepare a buyer brief that works at a busy booth

A long tender package is difficult to discuss in a crowded exhibition hall. Prepare a short project brief for the initial conversation and keep the detailed BOQ, drawings and specifications available for qualified follow-up.

The short brief should state the project type, destination, product category, estimated quantity, standard or custom requirement and the immediate question. This gives the exhibitor enough context to say whether the opportunity fits its range and what information is required next.

  • Project and destination country.
  • Product code, quantity and key dimensions.
  • Material, finish and performance requirements.
  • Required sample, drawing or quotation response.
  • Named follow-up contact and target decision date.

05

Use one supplier-record format at every booth

A business card and product photograph are not enough for later comparison. The record should connect the supplier to the buyer’s project, the exact product shown and the information still missing.

Ask the same core questions across comparable suppliers. Written confirmation after the fair is necessary because booth conversations can be brief and commercial details may change.

Photograph the booth or product identifier before the detailed product images. Otherwise, dozens of photographs from the same day can become impossible to reconnect to the correct company, model or quotation.

06

Organize support before, during and after the visit

Before the visit, the main work is prioritization: matching project categories to fair phases, building the supplier list and preparing consistent questions. During the fair, the focus shifts to translation, product records, clarification and deciding which leads deserve more time.

After the visit, the workload becomes more technical. Supplier identities, written quotations, samples, drawings, deviations and commercial terms must be organized on the same basis. VELA can coordinate these China-side records within the agreed scope, while official fair services, legal advice, engineering and destination compliance remain with the relevant specialists.

07

Decide which leads deserve Foshan follow-up

Foshan is useful when a fair lead needs closer product comparison, a broader showroom range, a supplier meeting or access to furniture and building-material clusters. It is not necessary to take every fair contact into a local route.

VELA separates leads into three groups: written follow-up only, physical comparison in Foshan, and supplier or factory discussion by confirmed appointment. This keeps local time tied to a real project decision.

The best candidate for a Foshan visit is a product where seeing more options, checking scale or finish, or resolving a supplier question could materially change the buying decision. Routine document requests should normally be handled before valuable route time is used.

  • Use written follow-up for catalogues, certificates and basic quotation details.
  • Use showroom comparison for scale, comfort, finishes and coordinated room selections.
  • Use a supplier or factory meeting for shortlisted custom or technical questions.
  • Do not treat a meeting as supplier verification or production approval.

08

Prepare the handover from fair lead to purchase decision

After the fair, issue the same written request to shortlisted suppliers. Align the product code, specification, quantity, trade term, packing and approval requirements before comparing quotations.

Before a deposit, verify the contracting entity and beneficiary, confirm the controlled order basis and define samples, drawings, inspection and correction steps. VELA can coordinate agreed China-side records and communication; legal, banking, engineering, freight and destination-compliance decisions remain with the appropriate parties.

Close every lead with a visible status: rejected, waiting for information, quotation under comparison, sample required, meeting planned or approved for the next commercial step. This prevents promising contacts from disappearing inside an unstructured collection of chat messages and catalogues.

  • Normalize quotations before comparing totals.
  • Record supplier deviations and exclusions.
  • Separate quotation approval from production approval.
  • Keep the buyer’s final commercial release authority explicit.

Buyer questions

Frequently asked questions

01

What are the Canton Fair 2026 autumn dates?

The official organizer lists Phase 1 for October 15–19, Phase 2 for October 23–27 and Phase 3 for October 31–November 4, 2026. Buyers should confirm the current schedule, registration requirements and venue notices on the official Canton Fair website before booking. VELA can help connect the product list to the relevant phase, but it does not replace official organizer information.

02

Is furniture in Canton Fair Phase 2?

Yes. The official autumn schedule lists furniture in Phase 2 together with building and decoration materials, sanitary and bathroom equipment, household products and home decoration. However, a buyer should still search the official exhibitor database because the word “furniture” covers very different ranges, capabilities and price positions. VELA narrows the route using the project type, product list, quantities and required level of customization.

03

Which phase includes lighting products?

Lighting products are listed in Phase 1, October 15–19, 2026. If a project combines lighting with Phase 2 furniture, bathroom products and surfaces, the buyer must decide whether to attend both phases or handle one category through remote supplier research. VELA recommends making this choice from the number and importance of lighting items rather than assuming one phase covers the complete interior package.

04

Where is the Canton Fair held?

The Canton Fair is held at the China Import and Export Fair Complex at 382 Yuejiang Middle Road, Haizhu District, Guangzhou. Buyers should use the official organizer’s venue, badge and transport guidance for the current session. Hotel location and daily meeting arrangements should be planned around the selected halls and later Foshan follow-up rather than a generic Guangzhou itinerary.

05

Should I ask every exhibitor for a quotation?

No. Detailed quotations are most useful when the supplier has been connected to a defined product, quantity, specification and commercial basis. Asking every booth for a price produces many offers that cannot be compared. VELA recommends recording broad leads first, then issuing the same written request only to suppliers whose range and apparent capability fit the project.

06

Can I visit Foshan after Canton Fair Phase 2?

Yes. Foshan follow-up is useful for buyers who need a wider furniture range, coordinated room selections, building-material comparisons or a confirmed supplier discussion. The route should be built from the fair records, not added as an unstructured shopping day. VELA reviews which leads need written follow-up, showroom comparison or a supplier appointment before assigning time to the Foshan visit.

07

Is VELA an official Canton Fair representative?

No. VELA Home Global is an independent Foshan sourcing and procurement coordination service. It is not the Canton Fair organizer, an exhibitor, a badge provider or an official registration agent. Official fair information should come from the organizer. VELA’s role is limited to the agreed buyer-side preparation, product records, supplier follow-up and Foshan sourcing coordination.
